These advertising scams say that the person lost their job and then found a
great way to make money online. They claim to make big money now and
will show you how. Many of these ads claim they live
in the same city you do (they use IP Address lookup techniques to find the city
your computer is located in [see below]). This makes you feel like your town is
losing jobs and a "local friend" wants to help you make money. Usually they want you to buy a book or progam that
is supposed to explain how they do it. You won't get
rich or everyone would be doing it and you would have heard about it.
They are hoping you fall for their sales pitch and buy from a "local friend",
(I'll bet some of their ads
may even appear on this web page as we run Google ads here to help pay for this
web site. Most Google ads are very credible,
however, a few people use Google to advertise their scam web sites).
For example, your IP Address appears to be: 38.107.191.107
Then using your IP Address above, these people can use that to do a reverse
lookup and get your city and put that into their ad, making it look like they
are located in your city. Like the dating and job sites do (i.e. Find Jobs in
"Your City"). You can verify this
by clicking on the website link below and typing in your IP Address listed above
to see the information they show for your IP Address:
